SATURDAY • JULY 18, 2015 • 10 – 4 • LONG BEACH PENINSULA GARDEN TOUR • $20 PER PERSON
The Long Beach Peninsula has a coastal marine climate which is Mediterranean (meaning little rain) during the summer months. In 2006, Patty Jacobson, a local gardener, had the foresight to pull together a group of enthusiastic gardeners who decided to open their beautiful gardens for visitors to enjoy. ‘Music in the Gardens’ became a one-day annual event which showcases a variety of local gardens.
Each year, different gardens are chosen to participate, with an eye toward providing a glimpse into how each garden has been creatively adapted to the particular needs of windy waterfront climates, more sheltered ‘inland’ spaces, or to produce robust vegetable crops as well as lovely plantings.
Many of these proud gardeners offer small bites and refreshment, and all invite guests to linger and enjoy live music.
The location of each garden on the tour is provided when tickets are purchased. No public restrooms are available at private homes. The map will indicate public restrooms on the Peninsula.
Please come prepared with good walking shoes and rain gear. We regret that pets cannot be allowed on the garden tour.
