“Mozart’s Magic Flutes”

Chamber Ensemble from Eugene

Jill Pauls is principal flute of the Oregon Mozart Players, the Eugene Opera Orchestra, and the OSU/Corvallis Symphony. and plays flute and piccolo in the Eugene Symphony. She is a member of several chamber ensembles including Mozart’s Magic Flutes and the Arrieu Wind Quintet, which toured China in 2000. She earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree and a Master of Music degree from the University of Oregon, She now teaches at OSU and maintains a private studio in Corvallis.

Debra Harris plays piccolo and flute with the Rogue Valley Symphony in southern Oregon and is second flutist with the Oregon Mozart Players in Eugene. A graduate of the University of Oregon School, she teaches privately and works as a legal assistant. She has performed with the Britt Festival Orchestra, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Southern Oregon Repertory Singers, and with the Maui and Honolulu Symphony Orchestras.

Ann Grabe is principal cellist of the Oregon Mozart Players and OSU/Corvallis Symphony and plays with the Eugene Symphony. Ann currently has an active Suzuki cello program in Corvallis, Oregon. She also teaches string techniques and cello at Oregon State. Ann received a Musikerziehung and Aufbaustudium Diplom from the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart, Germany, and a BA specializing in performance and Suzuki education from Ithaca College in New York.

John Jantzi is principal keyboardist of the Oregon Mozart Players, teaches at the University of Oregon, is Chorus Master and Music Director of the Artist Mentor Program for Eugene Opera, Music Director of the Eugene Gleemen, and organist at First Christian Church. He has performed solo and ensemble recitals in both America and Europe. Jantzi attained a B.A. in Organ Performance at Seattle Pacific University. In 1984, he received the “Certificate d’études supérieures d’orgue” from the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève, Switzerland. He received a Masters of Music degree in conducting in 1995 and a Ph.D. in Music Theory in 2002, both from the University of Oregon.
